Pvt. Benjamin L. Bennett, Sr. - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Benjamin L. Bennett, Sr. enlisted as a private on September 10, 1861. The December 31, 1863 roll, last on file, shows him present. No later record. He is buried in the Kent-Bennett Cemetery in Jenkins County, Georgia.

Pvt. Thomas Drake - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Thomas Drake enlisted as a private on September 10, 1861. On July 30, 1864, he died in Richmond, Virginia. He is buried in the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.

Pvt. Thomas W. Goodwin - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Thomas W. Goodwin enlisted as a private in Company B, 8th Regiment, Georgia State Troops on December 19, 1861. He mustered out on April 1862. He was appointed 2nd Sergeant of Company C, 54th Regiment, Georgia Infantry on April 22, 1862. He was wounded and transferred to Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry in July 1863. He surrendered at Greensboro, North Carolina on April 26, 1865. He is buried in the Fort Gordon Cemetery #30 aka Leitner Cemetery, Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Pvt. John Malcolm Hendrix - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. John Malcolm Hendrix enlisted as a private in Company K on September 10, 1861. He survived the war and died on December 1, 1903. He is buried in the Friendship Baptist Church outside of Statesboro in Bulloch County, Georgia.

Pvt. Daniel Wikler Johnson - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Daniel Wikler Johnson enlisted as a private on September 10, 1861. The December 31, 1863 roll, last on file, shows him present. He was paroled at Augusta, Georgia, on May 31, 1865. He is buried in the Kent-Bennett Cemetery in Jenkins County, Georgia.

Pvt. Seaborn A. Johnson - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Seaborn A. Johnson enlisted as a private in 1863. His pension records show he was wounded near Richmond, Virginia, in October of 1864. He was furloughed from Camp Winder Hospital at Richmond, Virginia, for 60 days, in February of 1865. No later record. He was born in Georgia in 1847. He is buried in the Kent-Bennett Cemetery in Jenkins County, Georgia.

Pvt. Henry Joiner - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Enlisted as a private on September 10, 1861. On May 10, 1864, he was wounded in right lung at Drewry's Bluff, Virginia. On October 8, 1864, he died of his wounds in General Hospital #9 at Richmond, Virginia. He is buried in the Sand Bethel Cemetery in Taylor County, Georgia.

Pvt. Augustus Rowan Oglesby - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Augustus Rowan Oglesby enlisted as a private on September 10, 1861. On December 31, 1863, he was on detached duty at Fort Sumter, South Carolina. No later record. He was born on July 12, 1844 in Emanuel County, Georgia. After the war, he attended medical school at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and practiced medicine in Emanuel County until his death. Dr. Oglesby died on April 23, 1902, and was buried in the Oglesby Family Cemetery in Jenkins County, Georgia.

Pvt. Jonas R. Proctor - (1841-1919) Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Jonas Proctor enlisted as a private on August 18, 1862. He was captured at Morris Island, South Carolina, on September 7, 1863, and paroled at Point Lookout, Maryland, in 1864. He was received at Savannah River, Georgia, for exchange on November 15, 1864. He is buried in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Garfield, Georgia.

Pvt. William G. Sherrod, Jr. - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. William G. Sherrod, Jr. enlisted as a private on April 22, 1862. In 1864, he was wounded near Petersburg, Virginia. On May 26, 1865, he was paroled at Augusta, Georgia. He is buried in the Heinz Baptist Church Cemetery in Emanuel County, Georgia.

1st Lt. Green B. Spence - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Green B. Spence was appointed 1st Lieutenant on September 10, 1861. On March 5, 1864, he resigned after being elected Tax Receiver of Emanuel County, Georgia. He was born in Emanuel County, Georgia, on December 27, 1830. He is buried in the Heinz Baptist Church Cemetery in Emanuel County, Georgia.

Pvt. George M. Sumner - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. George Sumner enlisted as a private on September 10, 1861. He was wounded at Sharpsburg, Maryland, on September 17, 1862, and died in Lines' Farm Hospital in September 1862. He is buried in an unmarked grave in the Confederate Cemetery (Washington Cemetery) at Hagerstown, Maryland.

Capt. John N. Wilcox - Company K, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry. John N. Wilcox was appointed Captain on September 10, 1861. On June 27, 1862, he was wounded at Cold Harbor, Virginia. He was detailed to the Quartermaster Department on December 21, 1862. On May 18, 1865, he was paroled at Augusta, Georgia. He is buried in the Habersham Methodist Church Cemetery in Jenkins County, Georgia.
