Pvt. Stephen Florence New
Company H, 28th Georgia

Stephen Florence New was born on March 18, 1845, and enlisted as a Private in Company H, 28th Georgia Volunteer Infantry, on March 20, 1862, at Augusta, Georgia. The muster roll for December 31, 1863, which was the last on file, showed him present. Although there are no later service records on file, Stephen did survive the war and was still living in Washington County, Georgia, in late 1888.
